It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

The house is beginning to look and smell like Christmas!  My favorite time of the year!  My children will be home the entire weekend and I glory in that time spent together.  Now is the planning stage for what we will eat, what we will do, gifts for them and special remembrances of years gone by.  And what we will sing!  We gather around the piano and bring out all the old favorites – some Christmas, some not.  Ritchey brought me roses Friday night – for putting up with him!  What a lovely man!  How could he think it is a chore to wait on supper while he works hard, to cook for him and care for him?  Sorry to be so sentimental, but that’s part of the season, too.  Realizing just how much our loved ones mean to us!  The roses look beautiful on the table – with the Christmas tree in the background.  Red and white – red for love, white because they smell so lovely!

This little Santa has been around for a long time.  He sits beside the poinsettia on the entryway table.  His glistening beard catches the light – makes everything sparkly, just the way it should be!  He’s almost as old as the kids!

How can you have Christmas without a poinsettia?  These beautiful plants must remain in hiding all year till the Thanksgiving forks have been set down – then they come out with a vengeance!  Now there are so many colors to choose from, many varieties – including a curled leaf plant!  With so much red and green already on the table I thought the white most appropriate!

Our buffet holds little pieces of Christmas we’ve gathered through the years.  Some are not exactly Christmas, but I use them as such!  Anything with red or green that speaks of fun and good times!  I do believe the tree is positioned to appear everywhere – even as a reflection!  That’s part of the magic of Christmas!  Now how about a cup of tea and muffin before we continue our tour?
