Fall Comes to Shaker Village

Shaker Village has put on its beautiful fall foliage – new colors to delight visitors.  It’s been windy the last couple of days – a nip blowing in to plunge our temperatures down to the 50’s next week – and those will be our highs!  Lows will be in the 30’s and 40’s.  A definite change – but it’s time!  We can’t carry on with summer-like conditions forever!

Shaker Village has its own draw no matter what the season.  A few weeks ago was the Harvest Fest – with all of fall’s fun to do – a pig roast, a 5K trail run for those with enough energy, pumpkins, apple-picking!

I’m more of a walking than a running person – with many stops for photos!

Many visitors enjoy the a wagon ride around the grounds.

The scenery –

the animals –

or simply the peaceful grounds – draw people again and again.

No matter the reason for coming we usually always end up in the same place –

the dining room!  There’s just no way to resist such good food!

Then it’s one more walk down the lane – until next time!

  1. It’s easy to see why you return to this area so frequently. It reflects each of the Seasons so beautifully. I hope you’ll take us back there this Winter.

  2. Fall is so slow to come here. The high is 90 today. Love your photos.

Any thoughts?
